June has gone to church from day 1 (ok, ok, day 10. He was in the hospital for his first Sunday). And I'd like to think that we are raising him morally and right along with the Catholic faith... but I don't feel like I'm doing much to promote the faith other than living morally, and really wasn't sure how that really rubbed off on him, etc. Well, lately it's come to front and I couldn't be happier.
June now prays at night and often reminds *me* to pray at meals. He doesn't say the words but he folds his little hands in prayer and will do the "Father" part of the Sign of the Cross. Let me tell you, it's very cute.
It gets better. He has always had a Saint James card taped to his changing table. A few weeks back he pointed to it and said "Jesus" (in June language). I told him, no that's not Jesus. That is Saint James. I taped St. James above June's head on the hutch of June's changing table and St. James gets us through the changes semi-calmly and is now properly referred to as "James!" by June. Anyway...
I'm not sure where June learned who Jesus was, but he seems to know and is finally directing his "Jesus!" comments in the right direction. Check out this video of June this morning... maybe I have a little Priest on my hands?!
