Here's the program we will be doing: http://www.littlelincoln.org/samples_e.aspx#ll
It's secular and I'm cool with that... but I would like to supplement with some religious stuff. I went to my very first Catholic Homeschool Conference with my Mother In Law. The speakers were decent, but it was neat to look through all the curriculum books. I bought the boys a picture bible and coloring books for their Easter baskets and, more relevantly, I purchased Seton's Preschool Religion book to work though.
(it's like this one... only for preschool)
I also got My Jesus and I to read and supplement for the boys:
I hope to start the religious guidance soon (I mean I've been "forming" them all their lives but I want to get to more of the meat not just fluff stuff) and also I started back with Teach Your Child To Read In 100 Easy Lessons. June has a sticker chart and when he completes all the lessons, he will get his very first library card. He's beyond excited and I'm hoping a certain librarian friend of mine will help me make it a big deal (wink wink Miss Erin). Sooooooo that's my situation.
I finally feel like I'm headed in the right direction. Now I actually have to DO it. That's the hard part. I can talk and plan all I want but uh, implementing will put my money where my mouth is.
And YEEEES June is "only" four, but I'm an insane person and feel the need to start getting my feet wet. I'm a planner and I need to ease into things. So here goes nothin' :)

Duuuh, need you ask if I will make a big deal about it!? I'll not only make a big deal & congratulate the kid, I'll enter his card AND do his first checkout myself! ;)
As for school decision... Making the decision was probably the hardest part. One of my best friends cyber schooled her two oldest this year. Positives & 'harder' moments (remembering you're a mommy & God's given you these children to shepherd, AND each child is different) but I think trying it out with pre-k this coming year is a good idea! Good luck!!
Thanks Erin :) And thanks for helping make his reading venture a big deal too. We have a waaaays to go but I think he's motivated. ;) I'll keep you posted.
You're really helping me with this, I feel like my wheels are spinning and I'm not sure where to turn or what to buy. "what if I'm already behind?" "could we be where we need to be?" "what do I buy and from who and where?" "Can I handle him?" it's so overwhelming but you give me hope! Looking forward to seeing you again and talking about it!
