Today: playdate, Nana dinner, and 1st steps

Today was nice.

We headed out to see our friends and it was just what I needed. Their little 4 year old was having a week like June's last 2 and it was a breath of fresh air because I think the world of this mama and her parenting. Maybe it the climate? Allergies? Pool induced insanity? Or just plain old 4.5 regression and a mommy trial.

So we had a good visit and ate lunch with them before heading home for nap. At naptime June got me a snack while I was selfishly catching up on email and was procrastinating on joining him for said snack. He asked me what plate I wanted and what snack, then sliced me a pickle on a blue plate (after verifying if I was sure I wanted blue because, in fact, blue it a boy color, per June). What a sweet boy... when he's not angry at the world and dictating his whims be satisfied. ;)

We headed to my parents' house for dinner which was totally unplanned but very enjoyable. In the car on the way there I had to say something I never dreamed I would: "No no no and no! We do NOT pick other people's boogers!!!" I can't make this stuff up people. This is what you get when you cram 3 car seats into the backseat of a Camry, with 1 4 yo in the middle seat, forward facing, and 2 younger siblings rear facing on either side of him. Perfect reaching (er, picking) distance.

So we got there and enjoyed dinner. Miss Eliz took her very first STEP while we were there! My mom got to see it. Elizabeth was ticked because she just wanted to he held, but I wouldn't stop cheering and remaining arms' length away until she did it. Mean mom.

We packed up and headed home to bed. Jim is at a Philly's game and I've been sitting on my butt since 8:30. I need to clean. Today was a good day though... and tomorrow is Friday. Woo!!
