Bus Fight

So apparently, June got in a fist fight on the school bus this past week.  It actually comes across as a funny story (dons  mom-of-the-year badge for thinking it's comical), but if you bring it up, he's mortified. Won't talk about it or give you details (so if you see June after reading this, don't comment on it!)

Let me backtrack... Thursday he gets off the bus and as we are walking home I ask him where his glasses are.  He always has me put them on before school, and then I take them off after school.  It was odd that they weren't on his face.  These are his *new* glasses so there is a lot riding on them.  He pouted and told me that Gavin was trying to take them from him (his 1st grade buddy from up the street) so he put them in his hat.  They were, tucked neatly in the top of his penguin hat.  END OF STORY. 

Friday, I get to the bus stop and start talking to Gavin's dad.  He asks if I got the scoop on the boys' fight.  I told him the version I got (thinking that's all there was).  Um. Not-so-much.  

Turns out... Gavin, in some way shape or form, was trying to take June's glasses. June has been thoroughly versed in DO NOT HURT THESE NEW GLASSES, so I'm sure he was immediately irked that Gavin was trying to take his glasses.  June apparently warned Gavin to stop (per Gavin's recount) and Gavin didn't.

So then June punched him in the eye (per June's recount).  

Then Gavin shoved June and mutual punches were thrown.  The bus driver had to separat them.  All of this happened in the 5-10 minute bus ride from their school to our stop.

It must not have been *that* big of a deal because the school wasn't involved and I wasn't told anything except from chit chatting with Gavin's dad.  

Is it wrong that I think it's hilarious that my sweet sensitive (bull headed, hot tempered) June decked a bigger, older kid on the bus?  Oh boy.  Hands are not for hitting... 

That said, apparently June is taking this new pair of glasses quite seriously... :X
