A Post About Emily

Emily is at one of my favorite ages, despite her teething pain.  I love the "young toddler" stage 12-18 months-ish... they are mobile and interactive, but don't have their complete own plans and whims and tantrums (yet).  Emily is a very... busy... baby.  She's not busy in the sense that she goes from thing to thing to thing and "flits" around like Josh did.  She is busy in the "you'll have to schedule an appointment" kind of way.  She always seems to have an agenda and she's constantly toddling around... supervising, checking on her fridge farm, making sure the steps are still in working order.  It's cute because she's a pretty quiet baby when she is left alone, but she's very intent on toddling around and doing what she needs to do.  :)

This clip was her playing with her puppy.  She had just figured out that she can push the heart to make it work.  It was a mini *light bulb* moment for her.  :)

She likes to push things too... any bin or box she can push around, she will.

Emily is such a fun little spirit.  Her teeth are majorly bothering her in her sleep, but she's keeping a good face about things through the day.  She's a sweet cuddly little thing and I'm looking forward to watching her grow and grow (especially her hair... that girl's hair is growing at a snail's pace!).

I bet you wish you had a blue tub too.  It's all the rage.

Lastly, Emily is pretty much a full time walker now.  She took steps through her 12th month and once 13 months hit, she decided that walking was where it was at!

(Also, this video shares the standard craziness that is part of our normal) :)

So fun.  This peanut is such a blessing.  I often think "Wow, if we had the typical mind frame and had 2 or 3 kids we would completely miss out on Emily."  Growing up I never imagined having 4 kids, now I am so thankful that I was pushed beyond my personal limits to be a mama of many.  Sure, it's not for everybody, but I'm still astounded at what she brings to the family.  Each child is different and they all come with varied strengths and blessings and I get to raise them and experience all of that.  It's good stuff!
