37 weeks, baby 5

Back in the day this would be my "FULL TERM" post, though in the last year or so they switched the terminology to where 37 & 38 weeks is "earl term" and 39, 40, and 41 are "full term."  Prior to those weeks would be pre-term and 42 and beyond would be post-term.  So... Happy Early Term week!

Baby girl is still doing well.  She's about a pound bigger than she was last week and is longer too.  She's basically just putting on the finishing touches now.... there isn't any massive developmental stuff going on.  I know their brain grows and grows until 39 weeks though so that's still maturing, but even if she came now she should be fine in terms of her lungs and weight and all that jazz.

Everything looked good at my appointment: weight is on target to hit where I have with the others. BP was 98/68 which even for me is low but they say it's good and it has been that low, give or take, this whole pregnancy.  Her heart rate was 152.  Everything else looked good.  These appointments are painfully boring.  I still wish they did the checks, buuuuuuut whatever...

I don't feel a ton different than last week.  I actually might feel a bit better.  I'm more comfortable than I was last week.  My belly is massive, but I don't notice it a ton, except for being down to only a few shirts that fit well.  ;)  I've been trying to actively enjoy her pregnancy because I know I'm going to miss it once she is out.  This has by far been the easiest third trimester I have ever had.  I am actually liking being pregnant, like even THIS pregnant.  Yes, even with my whole third trimester being through Summer. Sure there are times I'm tired, or want to sit, or whatever.  I am 639,342 weeks pregnant, however in general I'm not miserable and not miserable is good in my book! :)

As close as it seems that I am, I'm mentally prepping myself to be pregnant a while yet.  My due date is September 3rd... My old Dr would induce right around then.  This office doesn't want you going past 42 weeks, but they don't do anything prior to 41 weeks.  So I expect to be in the office at my 41 week appointment somewhere between the 9th and 11th and my thought is that I will likely deliver on my own sometime before the 17th.  September 3rd is kinda a guideline date for me this time.  The last 3 kids were induced right around their due date so I have NO CLUE when they would have come, but they all would have seen their due dates all on their own.  So really, while most people would be like "Oooh you have 3 weeks or less!"  I'm mentally thinking, I have definitely less than 5, but not necessarily any less than 4 and it's not likely I have less than 3.  Time will tell.  Watch this little lady model after her biggest brother and come before her due date. :P

Anyway, until next week's addition of "there is nothing going on except for my abdomen expanding," I leave you with these:

I had no idea they had switched the terminology!!! Good to know - and how awesome that they won't be inducing you right at 40 weeks! Clearly all your babies have turned out great, but it's gotta be nice to let them cook a little longer, right?

Absolutely. Although the inductions all went well, I feel like a 4th induction is kinda pushing my luck. I'm looking forward to likely going into labor on my own this time. :)
