Ages and Stages

Life is an intersting experiance... you are constantly learning and each step ahead is competely clouded in mystery. The biggest upset or joy could be right around the corner. You never know where life will take you.

Earlier this month, Jim turned 26. This week, so did I.

26...

Many people I know who are 26 (or when they were 26) were still single and partying. Or married and living' the dream. Living for nobody but themselves. Sounds fun. Carefree. Not for me.

When I think back over the years, I regret very little and I'm astonished at the blessing I've been graced with so far.

Here's a recap of Jim and I... We've been an item for almost 8 years now.

We started dating at the ripe age of 18.

We spent our freshman and sophomore years of college at home, learning about eachother.

When we were 20, we went to schools 2 hours apart and had a long distance relation ship until we got married.

@ 21 We were engaged.

@ 23 We were married.

@ 23 We became parents for the first time. (& more materialistically, we bought our first "nice" car)

@ 25 We welcomed another little being into our crew.

@ 26 We are looking into buying a home.

I've been battling the fact that I'm "young" lately. I don't know why & really... I'm not young. I don't think so anyway. I mean I'm in my 20s, yes, but I've completeld college (summa cum laude), got married, and have had 2 kids. Jim has an awesome job with a great company and is in graduate school. In number, we're young. In reality, I think we're pretty accomplished. We just didn't wait around to get movin'. ;o)

& trust me, this is not the easy road. This sounds glamourous in type, but look at the reality. We went from college graduates, to a married couple in the course of a year. Money... er... it's not exactly abundant. Except for the first summer we were married, we havn't lived on 2 full time incomes. We jumped into real life head first and started to swim. We've kept our heads above water and constantly strive to do better by the boys and get more and more ground under us.

26.

My mom always said I was an old soul. Looking at what Jim and I have built in the last few years... maybe we both are. We've done alot & we're "only" 26. ;o)
