My mommy mission

This mom thing is intense.  I just can't shake it.  Evertime I feel like I can relax and enjoy motherhood, a challenge arises. But maybe this is how it's supposed to be.  I'm being made a better me by before forced to self sacrifice... forced to care, learn, and understand something and someone outside of myself.

So here I am, on my journey, without a map, directions or any clue of where I'm headed. Fun eh?

My most recent struggles are having to do with feeding Josh and understanding June. Josh has the milk allergy which is fine... I work around it. No problem. But he gains s.l.o.w.l.y. So. Now I'm getting more and more into nutrition and how to better feed him good fats and feed the rest of the family well while I'm at it.  I'm actually going on a "grocery food tour" with a nutritionist tonight to get an inside scoop on shopping well for your family.  I've switched to farm fresh eggs and am going to get 1/16th of a grass fed cow too. I've also switched my snack options for the kids.  I mix dried berries and 100% fruit strips in with their typical animal crackers or pretzels. I'm trying... slowly... to eat better and put good food into my kids.

The other recent change actually didn't totally happen yet.  I'm starting back with a chiropractor.  My back hurts and I know it will only get worse if I ignore it (I have a herniated disk from years of falling while skating). Anyway, they adjust kids too so I'm going to start going myself but letting the kids watch. When they are ready they will get adjusted too.  There are supposed to be good behavioral and immune system benefits, so why not. :)

Lastly, vitamins. Oh vitamins. I never believed in them and now we have quite the number that we take in the morning. Currently the boys take a multi vitamin, kids tums for calcium, and an immune support vitamin.  I'm going to add in Vitamin D3 starting tomorrow as well as get them back on probiotics. I *finally* found one that has no milk but doesn't break the bank so Josh and June will be on probiotics.

Oh the life of a mommy... I just want the best for my kids and for some reason, for me... it takes this type of effort. All in a day's work and I wouldn't change a thing.
