Update: 1/2011

I told myself that I'd do update on the kids every January, April, July, & September.  Well it's January 31st so I'd better put in January's update.

June (3 and 11 months)

June has *finally* FINALLY calmed down and is mellowing back into a polite sweet boys.  OH MAN have I had problems with him over the last... oh... two YEARS.  I think he's turned a corner.  June is still very dominating over Josh but otherwise is showing a lot of positive changes.

He is massive and I'm pretty sure he just hit a growth spurt.  He's holding at 37 pounds and his 3T pants are slowly becoming floods. :) He's rough and tumble and I recently learned, has quite the knack for baseball.  :)  June loves imagination right now.  He likes to pretend and be silly.  He's fun to talk to and loves people.  June talks to anyone and can strike up a conversation better than I can (which really isn't saying much, but it's impressive since I'm his #1 role model at this point).  He looooooves Elizabeth and tells me that he wants more sisters.  June still has his engineering mind in full gear, building things that I couldn't, but is also super interested in music right now.  He wants a drum set and loves Jim's guitars.  I suspect that he'll be musical like Jim.  Josh isn't nearly as interested.

Oh! June's other passion.  Baking.  He tells me he wants to be a chef and loves watching the Food Network. June and I bake often and he's a huge help.  It's honestly my favorite thing to do with him. :) He's making me a decent baker.

Josh (2 years)

Oh Josh. The biggest thing with Josh is his speech.  It's not clear to others most of the time but I know for sure that he is speaking a lot more, a lot sooner than June. He's a jabber mouth.  And the other thing about Josh... his sense of humor.  This is something June doesn't have.  June will be silly, but Josh is going to be down right funny.  He already jokes with me and has a little smerk and giggle to go along with it.  The other day I asked him what a cow said and he kept telling me "baaaaa" "bauk bauk", etc.  Finally I paused and he giggled and said "Moo!"  My 2 year old is already a joker. It's cute. He's going to keep the family laughing for years to come.  He's a lighthearted little spitfire and a sweetheart.  You can't get nearly as many hugs and kisses from Josh as you can June, but he loves to cuddle while you read him books and on rare occasion will snuggle into you while you carry him somewhere. :) Oh Josh... the child who is pushing the envelope on me as a mommy.  This little one is making me go outside my comfort zone and do things I never imagined I would as a mom.  But there has to be a plan and God is working through Josh.

Just today we went to get blood work done.  He has a GI appt next week and we need to make sure his white counts are behaving.  Never did I think I'd have a kid who I'd be running to special appts for and all that. But Josh... :) He's still off of dairy completely, but at this point, it's life.  It isn't hard to get around and Josh is Josh dairy free and all. :)

Elizabeth (7 mo, tomorrow)

I love this little thing. She has captured my heart so differently than the boys.  And honestly, I don't 100% think it's her.  I think I'm at an age where I really appreciate my babies.  I was going through the motions before but I *love* having a baby in the house now.  I love seeing her little smiling face.  I love picking her up and having her squeeze her little self into my shoulder.  I love her chuckles when I tickle her neck.  I love her attempts at sitting up only to topple backwards, smiling on the way down.  She's so sweet.  She is the prefect balance of needy and independent too.

For instance, today she got up from nap at 4.  We putzed around and finally were downstairs by 4:30.  I put her in her exersaucer and started dinner.  She played in there 100% happy until I was done dinner at 5:30.  From 5:30-6:15 she wanted nothing but to be held, but after giving me so much time to get dinner done and the boys fed, I was happy to hold her.  *And* she's not upset or cranky.  I did laundry and tidied up while holding her.  Happy as a clam. If I tried to put her down, she FLIPS, but while I held her she just hung out.

As for milestones, Elizabeth is a blob.  She won't crawl for a long time.  She's content to chill, like June was and I'm totally cool with that.  She learned to roll from her back to belly yesterday and like I mentioned, is working on sitting.  She says dadadadada and LOVES her brothers.  She's digging her toys and has 2 bottom teeth and started solids this month (so far: bananas, pears, avocado, & squash)  Life is good in Eliz world. :)

So that's it. All 3, in a nutshell.

See... life is crazy, stressful at times, tiring, and absolutely wonderful. :)

Thank you God for giving me these three and making me part of your plan. :)
