Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge was awesome this year.  My parents agreed to come along this time and I highly recommend the 1:1 adult to kid ratio.  I can't thank them enough for not only taking vacation days and coming up, but for all the help they gave while they were with us.  It made things really easy and quite enjoyable.  We outnumbered the kids and it allowed Jim and I to go on water slides together.  We were also able to get away and have some solo time with each kid.

We got to Great Wolf at 2:00 yesterday.  After settling into our rooms, we hit the water park.  They have a section that is primarily dedicated to the 6 and under crowd.  There are 5 water slides that little ones can go down alone.  You need someone to catch them at the bottom and in Eliz's case, you need someone to lead them to the top too but it's so.much.fun for them.  We spent 2 hours with Josh and Eliz at those slides yesterday.  Jim and June hit more of the bigger kid areas and water slides!

At 5:00 we decided to get dinner and went to Friendly's.  Yummy and nice... not crowded at all.  :)

Afterward we went back to the resort and toured the gift shop and arcade before story time at 8:00.  Our room this year had a separate room for the boys and bunk beds and they loved it!  Everyone slept really well!

In the morning we did breakfast between my room and my parents' and packed up our gear.  We were in the water park by 9:30 and enjoyed a few more hours.  Today we explored more of the water park: wave pool, lazy river, splash zone and some slides.  Josh went down the body slide by HIMSELF 3 times.  June was too scared.  It was a really nice day.  We got lunch in the park and headed home around 1:30.

The vacation goes fast but it's pretty well worth going.  The kids absolutely love it there and have a blast.  Eliz and Josh turned out to be quite the fish this year.  Fun fun fun!
