June draws

A few months back, June became more interested in drawing and coloring.  I think it all started with him deciding that he wanted to be a painter when he grows up (he had to dress like his future career for a library assembly)... so then he began to follow through.  Not with paint, but with crayons and markers.

He started with coloring books, which he liked to do with Jim or me.  Then it moved to him drawing super heros, then other things.  He mostly draws super hero's though. :)

June will sit and draw for hours.  He loves it.  I love that it came from him.  I didn't push this on him.  I don't care if he draws... or colors... or not.  It's a genuine interest and I love seeing it grow.  The picture below is one that he brought home from school.  He did it in Art class.  I don't know if he has talent for a 5 yo because I have nobody to compare him to, but it's pretty cool that he's so into it.

Draw away, my little 5 year old...

You know what Iove the most about this? It's that this comes after that spurt of not wanting to color! June learned how to 'persevere' :)

Yes! I think that's what gets me too... coloring was NOT something June was into at.all. I think I enjoyed seeing the "if you don't push your kids against their will, they will gravitate to something they love naturally" aspect of it. I love that it's all his doing, especially after really not digging coloring!

Wow! I would say that "Yes" he has talent.
To give you some perspective the way my oldest and second oldest draw (and color) right now I expect a drawing like the above in about 2 years!

Not to put my kids down or anything as all children develop their talents at their own pace but way to go June!
