Elizabeth Epidemic

This sweet sweet girl of mine has been taken over by a monster. She's been invaded. This happens to all of time but she has been hit particularly hard. It's the 2-3 year old plague. It manifests itself in strong will, new found independence, and boundary testing.

Elizabeth was struck down about a month or so ago. I miss my easy going angel.

Elizabeth's recent most painful symptoms are undressing herself and then screaming that she is cold... In her room, during naptime or in the early morning hours. She also has developed a lack of napping in the last week now that her pacifier was taken away. God help us all. When there are no naps in this house, a vile form of mommy resides. Ripping apart books is a new thrill. Exploring every crevice, drawer, corner, box, and diaper of her room has been a joy to watch... Even more fun to clean up. Or worse, make her clean up.

She is feisty. Has an attitude. Cries. Demands. I have to say that we are in the midst of a lot of transitions. (New sister, big girl bed, starting the beginnings of potty training, did I mention big girl bed?) So transitions. They are hard. Granted. But this sweet child of mine might just be the death of me. They say curiosity killed the cat... Miss Elizabeth has curiosity with with tenacity mixed with strong will. Lord help us!

I feel your pain! Both of mine are going thru some transitions, but the 2-3 year old change is NOT fun! We attempted big girl bed this weekend. It lasted for 5 minutes before she freaked out (she does not do well with changes to her routine). Also at the beginning (Very beginning stages of potty training). But this too shall pass. And if not, then we can stick them in a room together this summer while we drink DD coffee and chat ;)
