Emily update

I feel like I haven't given a specific post to Emily in quite a while.

After months of crappy sleep, she's doing better in that realm and had 4 massive front chompers firmly in her face, fully cut and descended.  I think those teeth were brutal to get.  I had no clue she was cutting all four.  That was what all those restless nights were! I'm still working on her sleep, but she's sleeping more like my typical babies... up a few times, but loves her bed and goes to sleep easily.  Woot!

She's nine months now and is pretty fun.  She's low key and a happy girl.  She crawls, sits, pulls to standing, and bops in place.  She's slowly starting to cruise, though I think walking is still a few months away.

I will say, she's not as portable and tag-along-happy as some of the others.  If she misses a nap, she will voice her complaints.  She's not a baby who is happy, though sleepy.  ::shrug::  She also wants to be down and moving when we are out.  She will climb you with her feet and make it very difficult to hold her if she wants to be down.  Church is the prime place where she wants to be down and will turn into a wiggle worm, while Jim or I am trying to keep her happily in place.  She knows what she wants.

She's so different from Elizabeth, but is an equally strong personality.  She's not a push-over.  I don't seem to get easy, push-over kids.  They all come with strong, but different personalities.  I'll never quite figure out how it works, but then God hands me another kid with another personality.  I'm just along for the ride.

Anyway.. Emily.. she's fun!  She's going to be a giggly little ham when she's bigger.  She's Josh without the sensitivity behind her.  She's not risky though... she was an earlier mover, like him, but she seems to know her limits.

She's a good girl.

Some of her stats:

Food:  She's still nursing 4-5 times a day.  I'm not arguing at all.  She's been such an easy and natural nursing.  She also eats 1-2 meals of solids per day.  Sometimes it's baby food, sometimes it's what we are having just cut up small.  She's my fourth, I have no big master plan for her eating.  I do what I can and she's still kicking so all is well.  :)

Sleep:  She takes 2 naps... they are about 2 hours each and she goes to bed around 6:30pm.  She gets up 2-3 times a night right now.  I am hoping that eventually dwindles, though night nursing is what keeps fertility at bay, so I can't hate those night wake-ups too much.  She's up for the day between 7 and 8:30.  It seems like she'll sleep in if I can, but if she hears me getting ready, she gets up too.  Her little closet room is working out great though, beyond her still being able to hear me sometimes.

Ha, when I think about a baby I think: eat, sleep, poop.  I don't think you want to hear about her poop though.  :P

Siblings: Plain and simple: they adore her.  ADORE!  Eliz is hot and cold with her and her attention towards Emily is often... rough... but the boys are great with her.  June is the best.  Emily lights up when she sees the boys.  She's tolerant of Elizabeth but stays a bit leery too.  I can't blame her one bit.

So for now, Emily -as long as she's rested- is a happy, busy, mobile little baby with a very bubbly and fun personality.  I love her to pieces.  :)  I have recently told her that her pregnancy was well worth getting her as the outcome.  Her pregnancy was absolutely brutal, so that's saying a lot!  She was totally worth the sacrifice.

My little Emmy... what a little sunshine baby. :)
