34 weeks, baby 5

6 more weeks until d-day! In my head I am figuring on 7-ish more weeks though because my babies tend to want to bake forever.  At this point I am cool with that.

I had an appointment yesterday and everything looks great. Baby is head down -please please stay that way- and is measuring right on. BP good, weight good. Boring appointments are a good thing in baby world. :)

This morning I had an ultrasound to check her growth. Since Emily was 8 pounds 9 ounces, they wanted to make sure this little one isn't trying to top her sister by much.  Honestly, even if she's "big" I'm not worried. At all.  However an ultrasound is a peek at baby so I obliged.  I've never had an ultrasound after 20 weeks so it was pretty cool to see her so much bigger and even more developed.

This is her little face with a hand in front.

She looked great and approximately weighed 5 1/2 pounds which puts her at 8 1/2 at 40 weeks... Same size as Emily. There is no further concern from the doctors because of that. :) I got to see her drinking which was insanely cute... She was opening and shutting her little mouth. She kicked up quite a storm during the ultra sound too. Love it. :)

Otherwise, I am doing very well!! I noticed that I am eating smaller meals now since she's getting bigger and squishing my stomach. I get full way faster and tend to stay full longer, still no heartburn or indigestion or anything though.  I've still been exercising and think that's why I have minimal swelling so far. Usually once it's warm, my hands swell and once it's warm AND I'm big, my ankles swell.  Like bad.  Cankles, bad.  It's not pretty.  I was starting to swell in May (my fingers).  I even took my rings off for a few weeks because they were getting annoyingly tight often... Once I started exercising more consistently the swelling went away.  My rings have been back on for a few weeks and don't bother me at all.  That's huge!  My ankles rarely show signs of swelling too, which could change, but woo hoo for still having ankles!!

There are times I feel "big" or "stuffed" or "round" or whatever you want to call a 5 pound person residing in your abdomen, but I'm still pretty comfortable overall.  I do feel a bit more tired, but I'm trying to ignore that.  I think that could have more to do with my lovely small toddler's need to see me in the middle of the night. ::sigh:: Otherwise, the heat isn't bothering me which is great and I really have no complaints. All around, she is taking it easy on me. This has been a pretty enjoyable pregnancy (after 20 weeks). :) Horray for that!
