He smiles!!!

From the time Josh was born we knew he was different than his brother. Obviously, they aren't going to be carbon copies, but for both being mellow guys, they have some stark differences. June has been expressive, bubbly, and social from the get-go. He never got that "you're not my mommy" anxiety as an infant and only recently is taking longer to warm up to situations. Josh however has been solemn from the beginning. He's fairly mellow, but... serious. It took seven LONG weeks for his first smile to be released to the masses (i.e. his parents) and TEN weeks until we caught it on film, er memory card. Alas, here he is... my semi-smiley boy...

I just love this cute little face, minus his constantly running eye. :o)

It's nice to see a little personality start to emerge. Josh is showing early signs of the YOU-ARE-NOT-MY-MOMMY-AND-I-DON'T-WANT-TO-BE-HERE symdrome. He's FREAKED out a few times already just by being held by someone who isn't Jim or I... to the point where when he has one of us back, he's still fairly hysterical. *sigh* It just goes to show you how different each and every child will be. I think Josh will be *my* easiest at home, but give me mondo problems when I have to leave him alone with someone else, or even just in passing him off to another person at a family function. We'll see. Only time will tell, but I'm enjoying each day learning more about this new little man in my life.

I'm the pink in my house of blue and I wouldn't have it any other way.

:o)
