June had his very first trip to the dentist on Tuesday. It went great!!!! I had spoken with Dr. Terry about a year ago and he said there was no push (in his opinion) to get June in before the age of 4. At my last dental appointment, June tagged along and got to see how it went, so he'd know what to expect. Then his big day came. (I so wish I had photos to accompany this post but I forgot the camera)
He waited in the waiting room like a polite little man. In fact, when asked "how are you?" by the receptionist he answered, "Good, How are you?" She was floored and I was a proud mama. :) Way to bring out those manners, June!
His hygienist then came out and led him and me back to the exam room. She showed him what each gadget was and what it does. He was at ease and climbed into the chair like a champ. He opened when he was supposed to open, closed when asked to close, and didn't squirm of fight at all. I'm telling you, what a trouper! She told him that he is a fantastic brusher and wasn't able to find much plaque. We were also told that although his bite isn't perfect (it may or many not change over time) he has the perfect spacing, leaving room for his adult teeth. YAY. Dr. Terry then came back to "count" his teeth and June walked away with a new toothbrush, big boy toothpaste, 2 toy box toys and a clean bill of health.
As a parent, I'm beyond happy for what a positive experience it was for him. I've gone to Dr. Terry since I was 3 and I'm thrilled to have my kids going there too. June walked away with a good first experience under his belt. I couldn't ask for more.

That is good to hear! It's really wise to start the kids young and let them get used to dental visits as early as possible, so it would be more of a second nature to them, as it should be for everyone. Anyway, I hope they are doing great, and continue to be cavity-free. Cheers!
